Today is about love. Not the worldly, soap opera, lust in a poor disguise – but that faithful and forever kind of love. That love that sacrifices self for others. That love that is patient, kind, good, and forgiving. That kind of love that knows joy and faithfulness evermore on times of pain and struggle and suffering.
Yes, today is about love.
And love comes bearing gifts. Love brings us Hope in Jesus Christ of those things eternal and spiritual and unseen, that we believe to be true even when we can’t lay or hands on the physical proof. This Hope in His promises of salvation and redemption and renewal, it is a firm foundation on which we can build our lives trusting and following a better plan than our own.
And as we learn to trust and to grow in our Faith as we walk this path, it is amazing when we see His promises proven true. But should we be amazed by the fulfillment of His promises, or shouldn’t we have known all along? Yes, this is the walk of Faith. Taking another step closer each day, but still realizing there are more steps ahead – realizing that He is with us, not some far away goal that we are striving towards, but that He is teaching us, and building upon our firm foundation a life that will honor and glorify His name by loving and serving others.
And we know this love. We realize it’s value. Or have we forgotten?
Remember today, friend.
Remember the price.
Remember that He values you.
Remember that He values others.
Remind them.
Serve them.
Love them.
Forgive.
Be Christ if He lives in you.
Receive Christ if He doesn’t.
Lift up you cross and carry it, friend.
Mark 8:34 ESV
And calling the crowd to him with his disciples, he said to them, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.
John 3:16 ESV
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
Romans 5:8 ESV
But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
