Seek the Lord while you can find him. Call on him now while he is near.
Let the wicked change their ways and banish the very thought of doing wrong. Let them turn to the Lord that he may have mercy on them.
Yes, turn to our God, for He will forgive generously.
Seek God
Are we seeking and finding the Lord daily? Or have we given up and denied Him? Or do we pridefully think that we’ve found Him and don’t need to seek any longer?
The Lord is our Hope, Jesus Christ is our salvation. He is the Truth, the Way, and the Life. He isn’t a ticket that we buy when we join a religious group or practice religious ceremonies. He is a fire of Hope that burns inside of us daily. If there is no hope, if there is no daily surrender to Him as our only hope, if we are looking to ourselves and our own strength – we should ask if we are seeking His will or our own.
Repent and Resist Sin
We don’t have to clean up our lives before we come to Christ – who can live sinless without Him? We welcome sinners into Christ’s arms, He doesn’t turn them away as if they aren’t worthy of His grace! No, He encourages them to come to Him who are heavy laden.
But once we have accepted His gift of grace, once we have been called and chosen as His special prize as His beloved children, once He has made us glorious in His eyes, we will repent of our old ways and we will resist sin.
We will walk in Faith, understanding that His ways are higher than our ways, and that we need His divine instruction and guidance in our lives. And we will obey Him because we trust that He is Almighty God and that He knows better than our own deceitful hearts.
Turn to God
He has made us glorious, beloved ones. And He is refining us and equipping us and using us for His glory and honor, friends. Each of us serve a purpose in this world, and each of our lives will bring glory to God.
Yes, even the rebellious sinners who are far from God’s will, even Satan himself will bring honor and glory to the Lord when judgement comes and His full glory is no longer denied. On that day, all will know whether our hearts and lives were a living sacrifice honoring the Lord, or whether our eternal punishment upon the altar of judgement will be our only testimony to the glory and honor and power of Almighty God.
Many will read that and feel uncomfortable. I would rather you be uncomfortable and find conviction for your life today, friend while you still have time to seek and find Him in your life or to draw near to Him again if you have stepped away or put up walls between you and Him.
Turning to God isn’t just an act that we do correcting our direction. Turning to God is becoming the righteousness of God. It is becoming more and more like our teacher. It is being remolds and refining into a reflection of Christ who lives in us. We are to be the salt and light in this world.
And unless you believe that your life is a perfect reflection of Christ, you still have some turning to do, friend. So step up onto the potters wheel, and stay there in His hands, as He turns you, as He spins you and molds you and works out the imperfections into a beautiful work that is ac testimony to the master’s craftsmanship.
His hands make beautiful things, friend. Are you in His hands today?
