Expectation is the enemy of Love

Expectation is the enemy of love.

Serving without any expectation is the proof of love.

Two people that each insist on being the master of the other will never cease being at war with each other.

But two people that insist on serving each other will never cease being in love with each other.

This is true of marriages, families, friendships, and even our relationship with the Lord.

“Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” – I Corinthians 13:4‭-‬7 NKJV

“No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.” – John 15:15 NKJV
