Psalms 32:1 NLT
Oh, what joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven, whose sin is put out of sight!
PERSONAL COMMENTARY
———————————————
Yes, my many, many sins are nothing to be proud of –
But once confessed and forgiven, I have no reason to be captive to guilt and shame.
Yes, the Holy Spirit will convict us and make us aware of sin so that we can learn to avoid it in our lives –
but that voice that tries to shame us and beat us down with the memories of our past sin is the enemy tossing his chains and shackles onto us, hoping to hold us down.
But we can cast of these chains of bondage, by accepting Christ into our lives, confessing our rebellion, surrendering our lives to His will, and experiencing the broken spirit of a repentant heart.
Because we are not meant to be imprisoned but to live free, in a renewed life of purpose and meaning, serving and loving others, freeing them from their chains with this Good News of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Free at last, , Free at last,
Praise God, We are free at last!
Sons and daughters of the Almighty God,
Bought by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
Free at last to serve in our purpose,
As a humble and loving servant of God and to men.
Praise God, we are free at last!
