Psalms 32:8-9 NLT
The lord says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you. Do not be like a senseless horse or mule that needs a bit and bridle to keep it under control.”
PERSONAL COMMENTARY
——————————————–
Yes, when my life is surrendered, when I remain mindful of Him throughout my day, I find that I am guided along the best path.
But I encounter distractions and I stumble. And at times I have found myself acting like a stubborn mule, resisting the path that is clear ahead, just because I think that I smell a yummy carrot off the side of the trail, or because the path ahead looks muddy or steep.
But I’m finding that if I don’t worry myself about the path ahead and just keep my eyes on Him, and trust Him, and focus on this one step that I’m about to take – that I can follow faithfully. It’s only when I start worrying about tomorrow or the past, or I forge to focus on right now, that I get myself into trouble.
So I’m not primarily concerned with what He has taken me through already, or where He is taking me in the future, because today’s work is enough for me to try and get right today.
And I can do this if I am walking in the Holy Spirit guidance that is available when I listen and keep my eyes on Christ.
Heal my eyes and keep them on Christ.
Heal my heart and keep it in love.
Heal my ears to hear your Word and guidance.
Heal my armor to stand strong against the enemy.
Heal my feet to walk upright, standing upon the rock of my salvation, and following in the footsteps of my Savior, Jesus Christ.
