Are you ready to be lifted up? By whom?

http://bible.com/116/amo.5.12.nlt
For I know the vast number of your sins
and the depth of your rebellions.
You oppress good people by taking bribes
and deprive the poor of justice in the courts.

It is an evil time. A time when we run from a lion,  into the hands of a bear, when we escape from the near and are bitten by a snake. Even those who are good at heart fail to follow the Lord’s will because they do not value His advice enough to earnestly seek it.

Forget WWJD, what IS He doing in YOU

Shared in love and truth and Hope and Love, with Faith that His perfect message might shine through, even in the middle of my imperfect delivery.

Which way you turnt? Up? Or down?

http://bible.com/116/jol.2.12-13.nlt
That is why the Lord says,
“Turn to me now,
while there is time.
Give me your hearts.
Come with fasting,
weeping, and mourning.
Don’t tear your clothing in your grief,
but tear your hearts instead.”
Return to the Lord your God,
for He is merciful and compassionate,
slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love.
He is eager to relent and not punish.

Yes, there is judgement and separation and punishment for many. But the Lord isn’t eager to punish, He doesn’t delight in the deaths of the wicked, He is not controlled by anger or retribution. He is just and fair and righteous. He is merciful and compassionate towards those who seek Him.

Confusion

Ignorance and misunderstanding create sufficiently enough confusion within this world – that trickery and malice are found far less commonly to be the root cause behind the the pain and suffering imposed by men upon each other.

There is little need for an active supernatural enemy of man, when man has turned so far from God and is so hardened in heart that he becomes a great enemy to his own kind.

We are children of one or the other. We either serve to bring truth and love and mercy and forgiveness to the world, giving of ourselves to build up others. Or we serve the purpose of tearing down others to build up the image of ourselves. We are either seeking to honor God and honor others, or we are expecting honor for ourselves.

Who’s your daddy?

Righteous? Sinner? Who are you?

Today’s Manna – Our Daily Bread
http://bible.com/116/hos.14.9.nlt
Let those who are wise understand these things. Let those with discernment listen carefully. The paths of the Lord are true and right, and righteous people live by walking in them. But in those paths sinners stumble and fall.

Observation
Oh what a sin it is to think ourselves wise, to set ourselves upon the throne of self exaltation in a prideful stance. If we think ourselves so wise,  if we think that we are so understanding, why do we still find ourselves stumbling? Why do we still find ourselves falling short daily of the glory of God?

Do, don’t just say.

Today’s Manna – Our Daily Bread

For my people are determined to desert me. They call me the Most High, but they don’t truly honor me.

Observation
How am I determined to act? Am I satisfied talking about the Lord,  but not honoring Him in my actions?

Don’t Point

Today’s Manna – Our Daily Bread
http://bible.com/116/hos.4.4.nlt
Don’t point your finger at someone else and try to pass the blame! My complaint, you priests, is with you.

Observation
People are less likely to listen and learn when we point the finger at them in judgement, because when a sword is raised towards us,  we prepare to defend ourselves,  we put up walls and prepare for battle, we run away because we are afraid that we are about to be hurt and plundered.

Shine bright, that isn’t your little flame, it is His glorious grace

http://bible.com/116/dan.12.3.nlt
Those who are wise will shine as bright as the sky, and those who lead many to righteousness will shine like the stars forever.

To be wise is to have understanding,  to fear the Lord’s wrath and righteous judgement that will be poured out on this world.

A Disciple is not a career choice, it is a calling

http://bible.com/59/luk.9.57-62.ESV
As they were going along the road, someone said to him, “I will follow you wherever you go.” And Jesus said to him, “Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head.”  To another he said, “Follow me.” But he said, “Lord, let me first go and bury my father.” And Jesus said to him, “Leave the dead to bury their own dead. But as for you, go and proclaim the kingdom of God.”  Yet another said, “I will follow you, Lord, but let me first say farewell to those at my home.” Jesus said to him, “No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.”

Three men. Three situations. The responses.

My Father’s Way

http://bible.com/59/mat.20.25-28.ESV
But Jesus called them to him and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles Lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them.  It shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant,  and whoever would be first among you must be your slave,  even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
